Situated in the southeastern part of the country, the Alta Mogiana region boasts a rich history in Brazil coffee cultivation. With roots dating back to the 19th century, this area thrived as a result of its ideal climate and fertile soil.

Alta Mogiana undergoes a harvest period from May to July, benefiting from an annual rainfall of 1,564mm. Its climate is warm and temperate, creating favourable conditions for coffee cultivation. The soil found in this region is known as dystrophic Red Latosol and has drainage and aeration properties that aid coffee cultivation.

In 2013, the coffee produced in Alta Mogiana region was recognised as a Geographical Indication, recognising the region’s geographic and environmental attributes that shape the coffee’s characteristics.
